DANCE OF MODERN AND ETHNIC LINES

This house, located against the Atlantic Ocean in Punta del Este, Uruguay, in South America, stands out from the other houses on the long coastline with its modern face. This project, designed by architect Martin Gomez, is a flying seagull when viewed from the opposite side. In the end, the owner of the house, who owns the land, asked Architect Martin Gomez to design a project by explaining the living space of his dreams. The house, which offers the magnificent view of the Atlantic Ocean like a painting, was designed as two different volumes due to the level difference. A semi-open living area and swimming pool were designed between the block and the rear block, which is located at a higher level due to the level difference. The semi-open living area of the house, spread over an area of 150 m2 by the pool, was conceived as a pool house.

There are 4 rooms, a dining area and an open kitchen on the ground floor of the main building of the house. The second floor has been specially designed to have a 360 degree view. In the annex building at the back of the house, there are guest rooms, a maid’s house, a garage and a semi-enclosed barbecue area for garden parties. The owner, who is very meticulous, wants his house, which he sees as a one-of-a-kind jewel, to always remain as it was in its first days. For this, durable and quality materials were preferred in the construction of the house. Gray natural stone walls, natural stone floor tiles indoors and parquets made of Lapacho wood in Brazil were preferred outdoors. In order to enjoy the view to the fullest, the windows of the house are frameless and designed with folding windows. In the decoration of the house, a simple style was designed in order not to overshadow the magnificent view. The passion for quality and originality has manifested itself in classic designs in decoration. In order to eliminate the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces, foldable glass doors were preferred and it was desired to be able to go out from every part of the house.
